Convegno "Roman Jakobson: Linguistica e Poetica" – Programma

 Milano-Vercelli, 18-20/11/2015

The international conference dedicated to Roman Jakobson is organised by the Università del Piemonte Orientale e and the Università degli Studi di Milano and will be held from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th November 2015 in Milan and Vercelli.
The aim of this event is to reflect on the work of the great linguist, semiotician, critic and theorist and to highlight the amplitude, relevance and modernity of his contributes to the many disciplines he dealt with. Since his first studies and his contribution to what was called “Russian Formalism”, Jakobson played a fundamental role in the renovation of linguistics thought and established the bases of structural analysis, whose principles were adopted in so many fields of knowledge.
Moreover, his concerns with the function of language allowed the development of new perspectives in the theory of literature and about communication sciences as a whole: all arguments that we want to run through once again, recalling his work and renewing his indefatigable engagement in spreading all over an adequate consciousness of the complexity of language’s problems.
With his own words: linguista sum: linguistici nihil a me alienum puto.
